Welcome back to Term Three for all families. It is lovely to see some energetic faces around the college after a long and tiring Term Two. As with all terms, there is a lot on this term for students in all parts of the school, especially our Year 12 students who really only have one term left in their schooling. We wish them well
We also have some staff on leave at the moment, including Mrs Keenan who has a well deserved four week break. There are several staff with unplanned leave that has occurred since the start of term, Deputy Principals will inform you if this impacts your child's class or parent teacher interviews.
A good news story is the re-surfacing of the gymnasium floor over the holidays. As you can see in the pictures the floor looks amazing and the new line markings better serve the growing class sizes across the college and provide a much safer environment for all users. We also have an east/west volleyball court, marked in magenta, which will allow players to serve properly, which has Mr O'Donnell excited. Please when entering the gym wipe your feet!
Stage 16 of the capital development plan is moving quickly and fingers crossed it will be completed for our open night in Week 5.
Please remember the following events in the next few weeks
Have a great week,
Mr Jim Morcom
Acting principal
Do you know a young person who is ready to grow their leadership ability, confidence and real world skills?
Encourage them to apply for Camp Hero - a transformative 5 day camp that empowers young people to become confident change-makers in their schools and communities. Through outdoor challenges and hands-on workshops, students discover their strengths, develop practical mental health tools and form meaningful connections with others who are driven to make a difference.
And it is fully funded! In others words - it's FREE for your child to attend!
Last April, students Hope and Jack attended the Leadership Program and we're outstanding (according to Zero2Hero staff) representatives of our school. These holidays, student Kelsey is attending the Youth Program. If your student wants to know more they are more than welcome to speak to our past attendees.
Applications for Camp Hero LEADERSHIP (15 - 18 year olds) and Camp Hero YOUTH (13 - 15 year olds) are now open for September/October school holidays! References help so please reach out to school staff if your student needs a reference letter.
