Thank you to all College Staff for their amazing efforts this semester. As we head into the mid-year break, I wish all my colleagues a relaxing time with their loved ones.
Teachers across the school have finished Semester One Progress reports. These are available on SEQTA. I would encourage all parents to read through the report with your child. We have much to celebrate but also challenges to face as we move into second semester.
Our College NAIDOC events this week were full of meaning and so very heart-warming. The Junior School assembly showcased local musician, Dal Jones, and Year Eight Djiti Djiti (willy wagtail) dancers and a video of our JS Indigenous students. We were very blessed to have Aboriginal community members at the assembly who later joined College staff for morning tea. The College came together for our NAIDOC liturgy on the last day of term. Students from Junior and Secondary School read, sang, danced, played instruments for the occasion. It was a truly beautiful event.
Mr Callaghan organised our Inaugural Good Standing event on the last day for Secondary School students who have not received a detention. A wonderful initiative that rewards awesome behaviour at school. I was very happy to see the long list of students.
Term Three starts on Monday 17 July.
Wishing you all a safe and blessed break.

On Friday 23rd June, six students from Years 9 and 10 attended ‘Have Sum Fun’ which is an exciting mathematics initiative that uses a quiz-night format. Teams of six students raced against the clock to solve four intense rounds of eight challenging problems. This initiative was held at North Albany Senior High School and all the schools from the region attended.
Our team consisted of Hoa, Josh and Charlotte from Year 10 and Chiara, Zac and Daniel from Year 9. Our students worked very well together to solve the challenging problems. Although, they didn’t leave with a place, they scored very well in two out of the four rounds. The students all had ‘sum fun’ and are keen to return next year.
Thank you to Mrs Kershaw for accompanying myself and the students.
