Year 9 students recently visited the National Anzac Centre in Albany as part of their HASS studies on World War I and Australia’s involvement in the conflict. The excursion provided a powerful and immersive experience that brought classroom learning to life, helping students deepen their understanding of the personal stories and sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand service personnel.
Students were highly engaged throughout the visit and especially enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits. A particular highlight was being fortunate enough to witness a cannon firing, which added an unforgettable and tangible connection to the history they have been studying. Overall, the excursion was a valuable and memorable learning experience for all involved.
Students from Years Seven, Eight and Nine had the amazing opportunity to create sculptures for the Wirrin Way Project installation as a part of the 2026 Sculpture at Binalup exhibition: 10th - 19th April.

Our Year 6 students recently returned from an unforgettable camp at Quaranup, filled with adventure, laughter, and plenty of teamwork. Despite some pockets of wet weather, spirits remained high as students embraced some change of activities with enthusiasm.
Throughout the camp, students enjoyed a wide range of experiences including snorkelling, fishing, hiking, archery, and even a sensory obstacle course completely blindfolded. They also put their creativity to the test with sandcastle building and worked collaboratively to construct shelters. A highlight for many was the nighttime spotlight activity, adding a sense of excitement and adventure to the evening.
The ever popular quiz night organised by Mr B brought plenty of laughs, especially when it didn’t take long for students to correctly identify the Deputy Principal’s baby photo (a black and white clue gave it away!).
We were fortunate to finish our camp with a beautiful sunny day, the perfect ending. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide such enriching experiences and are proud of the way our students challenged themselves, supported one another, and made the most of every moment.
I’m reaching out to tell you about Starkick, an inclusive all abilities program designed to provide children and young people of all skill levels the opportunity to participate in community sport in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
We are connecting with schools in regional WA to help promote Starkick to students and families who may benefit from the program, especially where there are Starkick centres located in the area. There is a Starkick Centre in Albany, making it easily accessible for your school community.
Starkick is particularly suited to students who may not typically engage in mainstream sporting activities but would thrive in a more inclusive and flexible setting. The program focuses on building confidence, improving coordination, and fostering social connection through structured yet adaptable sessions, ensuring every participant feels valued, included, and supported.
