Once again Pyjama Day was a smiling success as most students relished in having a comfy, cosy day at school. Participation was widespread from kindy all the way through to the year 12's and staff members. Our some of our Prefects and Peer Supporters raised awareness about the importance of sleep to our students in the ELC, by reading some bedtime stories and having a chat about good sleep habits. Thank you to the ELC staff and students who let us join them for a little while and a big shout out to Logan L,, John D, Emily L, Cassie S and Kaylah M for volunteering their time.

Feast Day: July 26
Patron Saint of: Grandparents
Life:
Joachim and Anne were very holy people and tried for a baby for many years. After nearly giving up hope of falling pregnant, they remained faithful and were blessed with a child named Mary who would later became the mother of Jesus. As grandparents to Jesus, Joachim and Anne would've looked after him as he was growing up, teaching him many lessons that he would have carried with him throughout his own life.
Prayer:
Saint Anne and Saint Joachim, you were faithful to God, trusting in Him in your lives. Your patience and perseverance in prayer are an example to me. I ask that you pray for me, that I may be faithful and no matter what happens in my life, that I may trust in God and His timing. Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, pray for us.

During week ten of term two, St Joseph’s College Chemistry students’ participated in the Royal Australian Chemical Institute's annual titration competition in the Western Australian Division.
In the lead up students studied tirelessly, late into the evenings to hone their titration skills prior to the big day in week ten. On the day, students had 2 hours to complete 2 sets of titrations and calculations to determine an unknown quantity of an acid.
Unfortunately the time pressure and early nerves led to several costly errors, which ruled out the chances of our teams taking out the top honours. Despite this, students worked in high spirits to the bitter end. For the individual accolades Lillian C achieved a distinction for her efforts, working methodically and with attention to detail, while Asha B, Darshan V, and Isaiah M all achieved credits for their efforts.
Better luck next year SJC.
In recognition of the achievements and hard work of Secondary School students in Semester One, an awards assembly was held on Thursday of last week. Congtratulations to all the recipients of thes awards.
The Year 6 classes always enjoy their reading buddy sessions. This activity has been extremely beneficial for both our older primary students and the younger students in our College. These opportunities have allowed our younger students to have fun, positive, experiences with a 'big kid' who has become a familiar face for them in the school community. The 'big kids' model (and practice) reading aloud with fluency and expression.
Today Year 6 Gold read to Kindergarten Gold and Year 6 Blue read to the 3 Year Old Gold class in the Junior Library.
From the first day in Term 1, Pre-Primary Blue have been counting every day of school.
On Tuesday this week, they made it to 100 days and celebrated by dressing up as people who are 100.
A wop bop a lu mop a wop bam boom! ‘Grease is the Word’ for ALOTCo in 2023!
If you've loved Grease since you first saw it on the big screen or fell in love with one of the stage revivals ... Throw your mittens around your kittens and away we go ….
It's 1959 and Rydell High Seniors are in fine form - the too-cool-for-school Pink Ladies and T-Birds rule.
At times crass, tough, vulnerable, lusty, and romantic, Grease the musical follows ten working class teens as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, personal values and love. It's not all about Sandy and Danny. The focus of this production will be developing a strong ensemble performance that takes the audience back to gritty roots of Grease before the highly polished, but beloved film version.
Adult themes.
